Memorial service for Curtis Ray Dove, 60, of Elgin, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 17, 2013, at Fletcher Funeral Home.

Mr. Dove passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at his home in Elgin, Oklahoma.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fletcher Funeral Home.

Ray was born on July 30, 1952, in Altus, Oklahoma, to Curtis B., and Dorris (Schroeder) Dove. He grew up in Elgin, where he attended school. He married Helen Jones on June 26, 1971, in Cyril, Oklahoma. After high school he worked various jobs including a fencing company for two years, Public Service Company for four years, and at a gas station for one year before he went to work for John Trail as an auto mechanic. Ray later bought Trail Auto Service, which he owned and operated for over 30 years. He continued his education and training, and had many achievement certifications in specialized automotive repair. Ray was appreciated by his community and known for being a reliable, trustworthy mechanic. He also enjoyed home improvements, and was handy in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs.

Ray had a passion for car racing and was an avid fan of NASCAR and stock car racing.

Mr. Dove is survived by his wife of 41 years, Helen, of the home, his daughters and sons in law Rachel and Chris Babin, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Amanda Dove Waller and Ryan Waller, of Lakewood, Colorado, his father, Curtis B. Dove, of Elgin, Oklahoma, his mother in law, Charlene Jones, of Cyril, his brother Claude "Mac" Dove, and his wife Denise of Elgin, Oklahoma, and his grandsons Caladan and Casey Ray Waller.

Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Dorris Dove, and his father in law, Steve B. Jones.

Memorial contributions may be made to a savings account at Arvest Bank in the name of Helen Dove, and will be used to help with Mr. Dove's medical expenses.
