Mary O. Hughes, 93, of Palatka, died Friday, March 22, 1996, at Columbia Putnam Medical Center following a long illness.
She was born in Lakeland, Ga. She had lived in Palatka for 10 years, coming from Brooksville. She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church of Palatka, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Country Club in Brooksville.
She is survived by a son, James Edward Hughes Sr. of Palatka; daughter, Mabel H. Wiseman of Palatka; sister, Marie Brown of Jacksonville; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral was 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka with Dr. Robert J. Mills officiating. Burial followed in Palatka Memorial Gardens. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd 25 Mar 1996.)
