John F. "Frank" Huber, 85, died Monday, May 12, 1997, at Columbia Medical Center following a long illness.
Born in Elida, Ohio, he was a native of Allen County, Ohio. He had been a resident of Putnam County for 50 years, having first lived in Interlachen and later in Palatka. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He helped to build the former Hudson Pulp and Paper Corp. mill in Palatka and then went to work there as an electrician, where he worked for nearly 30 years. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, having been a member since 1940, and had been recognized for having over 50 years of membership. He was a Christian.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret L. Huber; 8 sisters and 1 brother, great-granddaughter, Emily Mae Anne Ashley.
He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Patti and Charles Williams of Palatka; Peggy Mangum of St. Augustine; son and daughter-in-law, John and Betty Huber of Palatka; sister, Anne Goedde of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; brother, C. B. Huber of Colorado Springs, Colo.; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Masters Funeral Home Chapel in Palatka with Rev. Sandy Colley officiating. Burial will follow in Palatka Memorial Gardens. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd 14 Mar 1997.)
