Springvale - Donat Blanchette, 69 of 11 Rankin St, died Monday at the Mainstay Nursing Home, Sanford following a long illness.
He was born in St Madeline Quebec. Sept 16, 1910, son of Alphonse adn Onalda Jodoin Blanchette.
Blanchette was a retired shoe worker. He was a communicate of Notre Dame Church and a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. the Knights of Columbus and the Sspringvale Social Club.
Survivors are three sons, Robert Blanchette of Uncasville, Conn. Richard Blanchette of Boca Raton, FL and Raymond Blanchette of Hohenwald, TN; a daughter Rita Bachand of Springvale, a brother Alphonse Blanchette of St Hyacinthe Quebec, five sisters, Sister Louise Blanchette of Mathuen Massachusettes, sister Irene Blanchette of Manchester New Hampshire, Cecile Giguere, Theresa Blanchette and Madeline Jolin all of Springvale. 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. at Notre Dame Church, Internment will be at the Notre Dame Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held tonight from 7 to 9, and Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. at LaFrance Boisvert Funeral Home 29 Winter St.
