Anna Elizabeth Langholff
Anna E Bahr was born in Sanoczin Posen Prussia on the 26th day of December, 1829
In her ifancy she was christined and after receiving her religous training was confirmed in the Lutheran faith May 25 1853.
In the year 1835 she became the wife of Ferdinand Langholff. Mr and Mrs Langholff came to America in 1851, setteling at Fort Atkinson where she has resided continually since.
When St Paul's Lutheran Church was founded her husband was one of the original members and was the first trustee of the church organization. Until age prevented she took an active part in church work, laboring unceasingly for its benefit.
She pocessed a true Christian character and was eveready to sacrifice herself for the good of others.
In an early day their home was a haven of refuge for their countrymen who reached America without funds or friends
Mr Langholff passed on the other shore May 8 1909. she had enjoyed faily good health for a woman of her age up to this past year, when she rapidly failed.
Death releived her suffering Saturday afternoon, Sept 23 at 4 o'clock at the ripe old age of eighty one eight months and 7 days.
She leaves seven children fourteen grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Four children preceeded the mother in death. Those surviving are Julius Langholff and Mrs Sarah Foljahn of this city, Mrs Matilda Maaz and Mrs Bertha Galitz of Chicago, Herman Langholff and Clara Savall and Mrs Amelia Wirig all of this city.
The funeral services took place Tuesday Sept 26 at 1:30 at the home and later at St Pauls Lutheran Church conducted by Rev A F Nicolans.
She was laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery
