Paul Brushahan, 82, 218 S. Weston St., Rensselaer, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 1983 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. He had been hospitalized five days.
He was a lifelong resident of the county. He was born Oct. 9, 1900 in Parr, the son of Stephen A. and Ida Martha (Pettet) Brusnahan. He was a member of the Rensselaer High School Class of 1918, and attended Linotype Trade School in Chicago. He was a businessman at Brusnahan Implement Company where he worked for 38 years.
He married Mary Cecelia Callahan Jan. 6, 1926 in Rensselaer. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. He was also in the Knights of Columbus, fourth degree and past grand knight on the board of directors of the Farmers and Merchants National Bank for 20 years, a past member of the Rensselaer Rotary Club, and a member of the Curtis Creek County club.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, and three children; Janet (Mrs. Charles) Bahler, Farmington Hills, Mich.; Thomas Brusnahan, Rensselaer; and Ida (Mrs. Reuben) Dallas, Denver. Nine grandchildren also survive.
Also surviving are two sisters, Clara C. Waymire, Rensselaer, and Lucy Lane, Rensselaer. Five brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Jackson Funeral Chapel after 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, Rosary services will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Jackson Funeral Chapel, and the funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Rev. Father Louis Gelhaus and Rev. Father Edward Roof officiating. Interment will be at Mr. Calvary Cemetery.
