Steven M Schwefringhaus, 23 of Wall, NJ formerly of Toms River passed away suddenly Sunday October 9 in Myrtle Beach, SC. Steven was born and raised in Toms River. He graduated from St. Joseph's Grammar School and Monsignor Donovan High School both of Toms River. He participated in the Cairo Retreat and attended Youth Trooper Week while in high school. He attended Monmouth University before enlisting in the United States Marine Corp. He served in Iraq where he received several medals for his service. Steven loved to listen to music, shooting, working out in his spare time and spending time with his family and friends.

Steven was predeceased by his father Joseph F. Schwefringhaus in 2005. He is survived by his mother Bernice Schwefringhaus of Toms River; three brothers and two sisters-in-law Joseph and Melissa Schwefringhaus of Wall Township, Michael and Yukiko Schwefringhaus of Brick and David Schwerfinghaus of Toms River and Michael and Lori Hunt of Myrtle Beach, SC and the Sowul Family of Wall Township; two uncles and two aunts David and Marilyn Chechel of Staten Island, NY and Pete and Cathy of PA; 7 cousins David Chechel, Carl Chechel, Christina Chechel, Peter Chechel, Tommy Chechel, Christine Chechel and Dennis Chechel. Steven is also survived by several good friends Bill Huss, Bill Melassanos, Juan Arana, Scott Trigo, Kristen Hunt, Kara Hunt and Adam Henig.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Brick, NJ. Interment will follow with a chapel service at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
