Arthur was the owner of Hess Stone Comp in Evanston Illinois. The company provided stone for many of the buildings in the Evanston area including the Rotary Intl Building and the Masonic Temple and several Northwestern University Buildings. After his retirement Arthur lived in Spring Lake Wisconsin. He was a memeber of the Evans Lodge # 524, and Evanston Elks Lodge # 1316 B.P.O.E.. He was also a long-time member of St Paul's prior to his retirment.

After his retirement, lived in Spring Lake, Wisconsin. He was a member of the Evans Lodge 524 A.F & A.M and Evanston Elks Lodge 1316 B.P.O.E. He also was a long time member of St Paul's prior to his retirement.
He is survived by his widow, Gladys, a son Robert of Ridgewood N.J. a daughter Mrs Orrin Bowers of Morton Grove. brothers, Lawrence of Adams, Wi; Roy of Chicago; A sister Mrs Raymond Remus of Santa Paula, CA and six grandchildren.
Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery
