OBITUARY :
MRS. THELMA G. HELSER, 56, of 44 N. Grant St., widow of Austin B. Helser, died at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, in the Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown. She had been in failing health for several years and was admitted to the hospital after suffering a stroke Sept. 7.

Mrs. Helser was born in Waynesboro, Feb. 18, 1924, daughter of the late James W. and Bertha (Baker) Morrow. Her early life was lived in Waynesboro.

She and her husband married in 1938 and moved to Pen Mar in 1951.

Her husband died in February, 1976. She had lived at her present address for the past two years.

Mrs. Helser was a member of the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren. She was also a member of the auxilaries of the Cascade American Legion Post and the VFW of Waynesboro.

She is survived by four daughters and a son. Mrs. JoAnn Crilley, Mentzer Gap Road; Mrs. Barbara Pryor, Rio Dell, Calif.; Mrs. Teresa Wedikind, Frederick; Mrs. Trudy Halterman, Pen Mar; and Tommy G. Helser, at home. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and these brothers and sisters: Frederick Morrow, Harvey Morrow, Mrs. Frank Bowders and Mrs. Marie Augustin, all of Waynesboro; James Morrow and Robert Morrow, both of Reading; Mrs. Clarence Downin, Rouzerville; and Mrs. Bertha Fraley, Charles Morrow and Miss Dorothy Morrow, all of Hagerstown.

Services will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in the Grove Funeral Home with the Rev. Guy R. Buch officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society at the Citizens National Bank or at the ATH&L Ambulance Squad.
