(September 7, 1930 - May 12, 2013)
Betty Jean (Weeden) Ferguson, age 82, of Richland Center, passed away unexpectedly at home, on Sunday, May 12, 2013. She was born September 7, 1930 the daughter of Don and Elma (Eaton) Weeden in Richland Center. She lived in Richland Center until 1936, when with her family she moved to LaCrosse, and then on to Sparta where she spent her elementary grades. She moved back to Richland Center where she attended Junior High and graduated from Richland Center High School in 1948. She attended Madison Business College and then worked at Schmitt Brothers in Richland Center, which was later called the Borden Company.

On April 17, 1955 she was united in marriage to Richard L. (Dick) Ferguson in the First Evangelical United Brethren Church by Reverend Roy E. Bosserman.

To this union three sons, Kent William, Mark Lee, Larry Dean, and daughter Lori Jean were born. They were born while they lived on the Bernie Bowen farm where her husband farmed until they moved to a home near Ithaca, when Dick started and later was freezer supervisor at Gold Bond Ice Cream Co. Betty was a homemaker, running the children back and forth to different events they were involved with. She was a long time member of Peace United Methodist Church. At one time Betty was Honored Queen of Jobs Daughters and then held the station of Martha in the Eastern Star. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Betty is survived by three children: Kent (Mary) Ferguson of Sikeston, MO, Larry (Shelley) Ferguson of Richland Center, and Lori Ferguson of Arena; daughter-in-law, Jackie Johnson of Lone Rock; 8 grandchildren: Heather Ferguson (fiancé Greg), Katelyn Ferguson (friend Max), Stacy (Dan) Pletzer, Matthew (Amanda) Ferguson, Timothy Ferguson, Nickalis Ferguson, Ashley (Austin) Parduhn, and Stephanie Ferguson; three great-grandchildren: Elliana, Kylee, and Kutter; special “Grand Puppy” Julia and many other relatives and friends.
