Mrs. Baxter was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Northside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Johnny H. Baxter; two children, Harold Edward Baxter and Barbara Ann Nunnally; sisters, Juanita T. Thurston Drumheller, Elizabeth Irene T. Wheat; brothers, Robert Edward "Bobby" Thomas and Charles Hansford Thomas.
Surviving are her children, Patricia (Ray) Compton, Larry (Marilyn) Baxter, Richard (Muriel) Baxter, Gary (Sharen) Baxter and Debra (Frankie) Eberly; 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Ruth T. Carter; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 7, at Bliley's - Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Road. A graveside funeral ceremony will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday at Maury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
