RUBY LEE HIGHFIELD TALLEY ABERNATHY
Mrs. Ruby Lee (Talley) Abernathy, age 85, of Florence, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at her residence after an extended illness. She was a native of Colbert County and had lived most of her life in Lauderdale County, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Baptist church.Visitation will be today, Jan. 25, 2005, from 6-9 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at 1 p.m. at Greenview Memorial Chapel, with burial to follow in Greenview Memorial Park. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Redmond Talley and the Rev. William Brewer.Mrs. Abernathy was preceded in death by her first husband, Luther Talley; parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Highfield; and brothers and sisters.She is survived by her husband, R.H. Abernathy, of Florence; son, Redmond Talley and wife, Charlene, of Thompson Station, Tenn.; two daughters, June White and husband, Jim, of Destin, Fla., Dolores Brewer and husband, William, of Florence; sister-in-law, Edna Highfield, of Cherokee; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Lane Brewer, Kelvin Brewer, Greg Crosslin, Junior Highfield, Milton Hearn and Bobby Talley.Honorary pallbearers will include Leon Hill, Andy Talley, Jim White and Jessie Abernathy.Special thanks to Hospice of Tennessee Valley.Greenview Funeral Home, of Florence, is directing..
