Professional Hockey Pioneer. Born in Ontario, Canada, together with his brother Lester, they are noted as founders of modern hockey, having established many of the rules used in the NHL to date. While attending McGill University, they played hockey (1904-08), winning the Queen's Cup championship in 1905. They help found the Pacific Coast Hockey Association, played for the Vancouver Millionaires of that league (1911-18) and won the Stanley Cup in 1915. He also served as PCHA president until 1924 and was owner of the Vancouver Amazons women's hockey team. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1950 and posthumously inducted into the British Columbia Sports Hall of Fame in 1966. Frank died of a heart attack at age 74 exactly four weeks after his brother Lester died, also of a heart attack.
