James Simms, a resident of Cliffwood, died in the arms of his beloved wife of 58 years, Edna Simms, after battling a long term illness. He retired from Supermarket General Corporation, after 25 years of dedicated service as a heavy equipment operator. As a retiree, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and a challenging game of checkers. The highlight of his life was spending quality time with family.

James was predeceased by his parents, Arabella and Festus Simms, three sisters, Corina Farmer, Redell Diggs, Agnes Barnes, two brothers, Walter "Bob" Simms and Darvis Simms. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife Edna Simms; his children, Patricia Ann Young, Larry James Simms, Linda Joyce Nelson, and Towanda Esquilin; and five siblings, Betty Hodges, Lula Kirkland, Melverna Hagans, Lugenus Simms and Jonah Simms.

His viewing will be held until the funeral services at Community Bible Fellowship Church, 268 Cliffwood Ave., Cliffwood, NJ.
