Lars Elias Jepson (1877-1948), age 70, a resident of Putnam County for the past 24 years passed away at his home in Peniel Thursday morning, following a brief illness.

Mr. Jepson was born in Sac City, Iowa, December 10th, 1877 and came here with his family, in 1926. He had been engaged in farming from that time until his passing. He was a member of the Peniel Baptist Church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Eliza Jepson; two daughters, Mrs. Roberta Simmons, a teacher in the West Palatka School, and Mrs. Shirley Jones of Newbern, N.C.; two sons, William of Palatka and Edward of Newbern, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. Sarah Saville of Braddock, N.D., a brother, Stanley of Fort Myers; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, from the Peniel Baptist Church with Rev. Cecil Underwood, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Peniel Cemetery.
