Martin J. Walsh, 71, of Keyport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 26th at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel. Martin was born on June 18, 1941 in NYC, NY and was raised in Flushing, Queens, NY. In 1980, he left NY and settled in the Bayshore area. Martin was a retired tower operator for NYC Transit Authority and was also a proud U.S. Navy Veteran.
He was predeceased by his parents, William and Katherine (Cronin) Walsh and his beloved wife, Patricia (McConville) Walsh. Martin is survived by his loving children, Martin J. Walsh and his wife Denise of Hazlet, James F. Walsh of Staten Island, NY, Thomas W. Walsh of Aberdeen, Joseph P. Walsh of Aberdeen, Sean P. Walsh and his wife Andrea of Keyport, Pattyann Hansen and her husband Eric of Jackson, Dawn L. Pileggi and her husband Victor of Keyport and Heather McVay and her husband Scott of Keyport. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Ashleigh Pileggi, Sean Walsh, Brendan Hansen, Lexy Walsh, Ryan Hansen, Shay Walsh, Taylor McVay and Aidan Walsh. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
