Stanford J. Adams Sr., 84, of Breckenridge, passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2007 at the Gratiot Medical Center in Alma.

Stanford was born Feb. 7, 1923 in Flint to John and Laura (Charboneau) Adams. He served during WWII for the Army in the Pacific Arena. He earned a Purple Heart for his bravery. Stanford married Marjorie Rogers on Dec. 5, 1951 in Angola, IN. He was a member of the Midland VFW, Midland DAV and the Breckenridge American Legion Post #295. He enjoyed bowling, cards, slots, traveling and collecting eagles.

Stanford was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Albert, Arthur, Leroy, Donald, Harold, sisters, Arlene Slusser and Betty Ash.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007 at 11a.m. at the Lux and Whiting Funeral Chapel in Breckenridge. Interment will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
