Upon setting up to do a roofing job around noon Wednesday, Troy was electrocuted when a 27 ft. ladder he was holding touched a PP&L wire charged with 7200 volts and went into full cardiac arrest. The homeowner, a retired miner performed CPR until the ambulance crew arrived to transport him to the hospital. At least one other worker was injured. Although Kehler had performed hundreds of roof jobs, safety is always stressed with workers, they had never had an electrical accident with wire. The work crew had never attended classes sponsored by Pennsylvania Power & Light for workers who labor near power lines. excerpt taken from Pottsville (Pa.) Republican Thurs. Sept. 23, 1993, pg. 17.
