Died: May 5, 2011

Paul Wesley King, 81, of the Sunnyside Community, died Thursday at his home.

Mr. King retired as detective captain from Greeneville Police Department. He was a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Academy in Washington, D.C.

He was a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church at Sunnyside.

As a member of Greeneville Lodge No. 3, F&AM, a plural member of Beersheba Loge No. 449, F&AM, and a member of the Kerbela Shrine Temple in Knoxville, he was active in transporting children to the Shriners Hospital in Greenville, S.C.

Survivors include his wife: Fern King; two sons: Tim King and Jim King, both of Greeneville; two daughters: Donna (Steve) Waddell of Jonesborough and Vickie King of Greeneville; four sisters and three brothers-in-law: Alberta and Phil Jeffers of Greeneville, Mary and Jackie Tullock of Raleigh, N.C., Patsy and John Jones of Nightendale, N.C., and Margaret Cole of Sevierville; three brothers and a sister-in-law: Eldridge King of Greeneville, L.C. and Susie King of North Carolina, and Emerson Bo King of Madison, N.C.; his grandchildren: Steve King, Cara Waddell, Tyler Waddell, and Wesley King; a great-granddaughter: Ande Kate King; and special friends: Linda Wagner of North Carolina and Kathy Fellers of Greeneville.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Chester and Sophia Rice King; a daughter: Darla King Bitner; two sisters: Catheryn King Haney and Gerda King Carter; and two brothers: Pender King and Shad King.

The family will receive friends from 2:30-4:30 and 6-8 p.m. today at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, downtown.

A Masonic service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel followed by the funeral service.

Interment will be in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. The Rev. Martha Beamer will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Wesley King, Tyler Waddell, Tim King, Jim King, Bill Moncier, Robert Ward, Steve Waddell, Kenny Haney, and Jay Ayers.
