Kathy passed away suddenly at her home on Sunday, August 30, 2009.
She was born March 1, 1952, in Wilmington, DE. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School in 1970. Kathy worked for many years at Blue Cross of Delaware and worked for HSBC until her recent disability.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Ann (Long) Ruane and John Ruane; and her brother, Michael J. Ruane. Kathy will be dearly missed by her brother, John Ruane and his wife Cookie; her sister, Barbara and her husband Jerry Hanks; her nieces Leigh Plomchok and her husband Steve, Shannon Benefield and her husband Casey, Sarah Thornton and her husband Bobby, and Mary Ruane; her nephews, Tim Ruane and his wife Heather, and Ryan Hanks; and her great nephew Chad Michael Thornton. Kathy loved her cat Patches and going to the beach on family vacations.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 4, at 10:30 am, at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 2501 Centreville Rd. Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 am, for visitation at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.
