Mary Elizabeth Bower New was born December 17, 1919 on farm south of Sheridan on Mulebarn Road. She was the daughter of Ova E. Bower and Mary Edith Boyer Bower. She graduated from Westfield, Indiana schools. On May 25, 1937, she married James D. New. They had two children - David Allen New and Judith Ann New Griffin. She & Jim lived in Boone Co, Indiana, Tipton, Indiana, Sheridan, Indiana, Noblesville, Indiana, and Bradenton, Florida during their lifetime. Mary worked in the Business Office of Riverview Hospital & as a Secretary at Marion Adams schools, Sheridan, Indiana. She served as a 4-H leader in Marion Township for several years. Mary was a member of First Christian Church & the Eastern Star. Mary is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, & great grandmother. Mary loved to travel and became sojourner in life .
