Greeneville, died at 7:35 p.m.
Thursday at Takoma Adventist
Hospital.
A lifetime farmer, he had lived
in Madison County, N.C., most of ~
his life.
Surviving are his wife of 60
years: Sophie Rice King; six
daughters: Catherine Haney of
Gassaway, W. Va., Jerda Mae
McCarter of Hot Springs, N.C.,
Alberta Jeffers of Greeneville,
Mary Tullock of Raleigh, N.C.,
Margaret Cole of Sevierville and
Patsy Jones of Raleigh, N.C.; six
sons: Paul W. King of Greenevil-
le, Eldridge King of Marietta,
Ohio, Arvid Pender King of
DeKalb, TIl., Emmerson King of
Marshall, N.C., L.C. King of
Weaverville,N.C., and Shad King
of Greeneville; 31 grandchildren
and 22 great-grandchildren; I
several nieces and nephews; six
sisters: Edna Cutshall of Ashevil-
le, N.C., Mary Lee Bishop of
Marshall, N.C., Martha Chand-
ley of Ohio, Robbie Gunter of
Marshall, N.C., Pansy Thomas of
Hot Springs, N.C., Koeppie
(Katy) Shelton of Morganton,
N.C.; and one brother: Auz Inman
King of Greeneville.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, Albert and Hattie
King; and a brother, Willis King.
