Jerry O. Adams, age 61, of Lawrenceville, GA entered into rest on June 9, 2009, after a courageous 2 1/2 year battle to lung cancer. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his devoted family. He is survived by his wife of nearly 43 years (June 25th), Sue Harris Adams; 2 Daughters, Misty Hayes of Lawrenceville, GA, Paula Young and her husband Tim of Acworth, GA; Son, Chris Adams of Lawrenceville, GA; 4 Grandchildren, Jesse Long and Jeri Lyn Long both of Lawrenceville, GA, Autumn Young and Timmy Young both of Acworth, GA; Mother-in-law, Gladys Harris of Lawrenceville, GA; Brother, Clifford H. (Buster) Adams, Jr. and his wife Faye Nell; 3 Sisters, Deborah Lee, Sandra Robertson and Kathy Lee all of Lawrenceville, GA; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and many Friends. Jerry O. was born on November 28, 1947 in Richmond, VA to Katherine Creasy Adams and Clifford Henry Adams, Sr. He was an Electrician for almost 40 years, member of I.B.E.W. Local Union #613, and served in the United States Army during Vietnam. Jerry O. was a singer, who was often compared to sounding like Elvis. He was a wonderful cook, enjoyed playing golf, and riding motorcycles. Jerry O. will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. A Memorial Service to Celebrate the Life of Jerry O. Adams will be held Friday evening, June 12, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Hall officiating.
