In 1872, on March 28, in Reedsburg, Sauk, Wisconsin, Eleanor May was born to Lizzie Switzer and Levi Waltz.
Eleanor's name remain since "Waltz" appears on several ancestry.com family trees, as well as having been verified on FamilySearch #LH8S-SBZ.

In 1894, on March 18 in Watertown, Codington, South Dakota, US, she married Harry Phillip Alexander (also of Sauk County, Wisconsin). Together they had a dozen children:
In 1895, on January 8 their firsborn was Clara Lina Alexander.

In 1910, Robert Alexander was born (listed in 1920 census).

In 1916, Clara married Benjamin Jonathan Martindale of Big Bend, Wisconsin.
1917-18 Ben registered for the WWI draft.
In 1917, on May 3, in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, Clara (Alexander) Martindale and Ben had a son, Charles Philip Lyle Martindale, but Clara didn't survive the childbirth. Charles was adopted and raised by his maternal grandparents Harry Phillip Alexander and Eleanor Mae (Waltz) Alexander.
