The Name of the Cemetery is the Mary Green Dame Cemetery. There are about 20-25 unmarked graves. The friends of Cemeteries for Jones County indicates that her husband could possibly be buried there. He is not buried there but instead is buried in Va. Another Dame cemetery is located close by. Buried here are William B. Dame and C.L. Dame. Both cemeteries are located near Dames Ferry a settlement built by this family. The brothers ran the ferry across the river after moving from Virginia. This land was given to the family as a land grant based on Mary Green Dame's husband George who served in the Rev. War. A historical marker marks the spot for the ferry.
