Jimmy Ray Franks, Sr. 60, died of natural causes in West Memphis on June 22, 1992.

Survivors include his wife, Eva Dale Franks of West Memphis; two daughters, Sheila Sambola of Potts Camp, Miss. and Robin Cotton of Marion, Ark.; two sons, Jimmy Ray Franks, Jr. of Jacksonville, Ark. and Roger Franks of West Memphis; four sisters, Betty Brancecum of West Memphis, Nelda Dean of Greenbrair, Ark., Rachel Henson on Hinesville, GA and Jean Higginbotham of West Memphis; two brothers, Billy Franks of Wynne and Robert Earl Franks of West Memphis; his mother, Leona Franks of West Memphis; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Franks was a member of VFW Post 5225 and a veteran of the United States Army and the Korean Conflict, where he was awarded the Bronze Star.
