John Henry Copas, 30, died at his home, Route 7, Jonesboro at 3 p.m. Tuesday after two month illness. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Anna Leota Copas; one son Johnny Dewayne; two brothers, W.L. of Cleveland, Ohio and Cecil Copas of Kingsport, two sisters, Mrs. William Hale, Joneboro and Mrs. Mamie Copas, Jonesboro; his pateral grandmother, Mrs. Matilda Copas, Jonesboro; and his materal grandfather, Iasac Cox, Indian Springs. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home is in charge.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Gray Station Methodist Church. Bishop M.K. Forbes and Rev. Virgil Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in the Pond Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be N.F. Sells, Onnie Sells, ____ and Harold Irvin, Sammy Copas and Rhuben Coggans. The body will be removed from Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home to the home in Gray Station at 3 p.m. Thursday.
