KING - Minnie Hester “Granny Minnie” Culler, 90, of Old Hollow Road in Winston-Salem, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2002. She was born June 26, 1912, in Stokes County to John and Nancy Goins Young, who preceded her in death. Minnie was also preceded in death by two husbands, Jim Bullins and Hobert Culler; a son, James Early Bullins; two grandchildren, Chad Bullins and Adam Culler; five brothers, Troy, Charlie, Cannie, Raleigh and Willie Young; and five sisters, Jenny Brown, Lucy Robertson, Bessie Shelton, Georgia Kinzer and Lula Purdy. She was a member of Kerwin Baptist Church.
Surviving are her sons, Jim (Geri) Boulding, Freddie (Marilu) Culler and Eddie (Linda) Culler; a daughter, Irene (Herbert) Bullins; seven grandchildren, Freddie Culler Jr., Stephen Culler, Marcia Tilley, Shannon Shaver, Brandy Bullins, Greg Bullins and Samantha Culler; nine great-grandchildren, Christopher, Danielle and Alex Tilley, Casey and Carly Culler, Kyle and Brittany Culler, Alix Shaver and Tiffany Bullins; a special extended family, Donna and Chris Burgess, Gloria and Javier Barajas and family; plus many more. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002, at Slate Funeral Home in King, with the Rev. Joe Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Boyles Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
