Claude Hooper Tolleson passed away on Sunday, Oct 14, 2012, following a lengthy illness. Born on June 10, 1930 in the Barnes community of Leake Co, MS, he was affectionately known as "Hooper" by family, friends and co-workers. Hooper served his country in the United States Air Force where he was introduced to what became a life long love of golf, including a long time membership at Leake Country Club. He loved sharing the game of golf with others, especially his children and grandchildren.

After serving his country, he was employed by AT&T Communications, retiring after 32 years of service. Hooper was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church in Carthage, MS, where he served as a deacon and was actively involved in all areas of the church. He also served as a Carthage city alderman, and was an active member for many years in the Carthage Lions Club and the Telephone Pioneers. He thoroughly enjoyed the close friendships he had with the Leake CC coffee club.

Hooper is survived by his wife of 60 years Modona Camp Tolleson; children Debi Tolleson Blocker (Ricky), Enterprise, MS, Allan Tolleson (Diane), Meridian, MS; grandchildren, Trent Blocker (Sherrie), Enterprise, MS, Tamra Blocker Lovelace (Brad), Tuscaloosa, AL, Ashley Tolleson Dean (Chris), Meridian, MS, Erik Tolleson, Oxford, MS, and Amy Tolleson, Meridian, MS, sisters Mavis Tolleson Bobo (Harold), Pearl, MS, Ann Tolleson Walters ( Bill), Carthage, MS and Thilda Tolleson Lilley (Arlie), Logan, West Virginia, sister-in-law Dale Bounds Tolleson, Pearl, MS; 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would especially like to thank the staff at Golden Living Center for the exceptional care that they provided and the special friendship of Alice Hersey.
