A lifelong Marblehead resident, he was employed at Gilbert and Cole Building Supplies for 35 years. He was a communicant of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church.
Mr. O'Neil also leaves a son, Dennis J. O'Neil of Marblehead; a brother, Charles C. O'Neil of Sebastian, Fla; a sister, Mr. Dorothy McCormick of Danvers; three grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Archie and Mary (Blaney) O'Neil.
The funeral was Wednesday, June 3, at 9am from the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm St., followed by a Mass at 10 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church. Burial was in Star of the Sea Cemetery. Published June 4, 1992 in the Marblehead Reporter
