William "Bill" Henry Morris Jr., 85, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Wednesday July 1, 2009 at the Medical College of Virginia. He was the son of the late William Henry Morris Sr. and Hattie Minetree Morris, and was preceded in death by a son, William "Buddy" Henry Morris III. Mr. Morris was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Colonial Heights where he served as a Deacon. He was a United States Army veteran of WWII, and served during the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Morris was a member of the Colonial Heights American Legion Post #284, the 40 & 8 Voiture 1530, and the VFW Post #2239. William retired as a sales representative from Virginia Auto Glass in Petersburg. He is survived by his wife, Virginia "Jean" C. Morris; daughter, Wendy L. Martin and husband, Paul of Colonial Heights; daughter-in-law, Linda M. Morris of Colonial Heights; two sisters, Beatrice M. Mayes of Hopewell, and Margaret M. Ford of Church Road; a brother, Raymond C. Morris of Dinwiddie; four grandchildren, Dawn M. Upton and husband Mitch, Melinda Austin and husband, Calvin, Paul A. Martin Jr., and James "Matt" M. Martin; four great-grandchildren, Haley M. Upton, Olivia R. Upton, Grayson P. Austin, and Sterling W. Austin.
