Karl B. Shearin, 77, died Tuesday, July 20, 1999. He was born May 18, 1922, in Franklin Co., son of the late Arthur and Hattie Neal Shearin. Mr. Shearin was an Army veteran of World War II and was a German prisoner of war.

Surviving are his wife, Estelle Turner Shearin; son, Bob Shearin of Rocky Mount; sisters, Hattie Hensley and Virginia Williams, both of Louisburg; granddaughters, Meredith Shearin of Nashville and Tammy Garris and her husband Bob of Rocky Mount; great granddaughter, Katelyn Garris.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 22, at Arlington Bap-tist Church with Dr. William Tomlin-son officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night and other times at the home of Tam-my and Bob Garris, 800 Garris An-drew Shearin Rd, Rocky Mount.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Arlington Baptist Church, 1500 Bethlehem Rd. Rocky Mt.
