Mrs. Barbara Sue Mikels Burk, 22 of Rt. 8, near Elston, died at 10:20pm Monday in St. Elizabeth Hospital where she had been a patient the last time since Thursday. Barbara had been ill since November 1968. Born in Lafayette, she was reared at Battle Ground and had lived at her present address for two years. She was married in 1964, in Lafayette to G. Thomas Burk, an employee of TRW, Ross Gear Division. Barb Mikels Burk was a 1963 graduate of Battle Ground High School, where she was a baton twirler in the band and active in Rainbow society. Barb Mikels Burk was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lafayette. Surviving with her husband, a son Thomas M. Burk, 3 years old at home, her cousin, Kim Mikels; her parents, John and Marge Pierce Mikels; a brother John Mikels and sister Mrs. Pamela Mikels Brown all of Battle Ground.
