He was the son of William Wallace and Grace Edna Briggs Huntley. Earl was born in South Otselic on March 17, 1920 and had resided there all his life. He was a general contractor.
Earl took great pride as sexton of the Valley View Cemetery in South Otselic. He was a former Fire Commissioner, past chairman of the Town of Otselic Republican Committee, and was the 2001 recipient of the Otselic Valley Grange Citizen of the Year award. He loved to make maple syrup.
Surviving are his life companion, Peg Graves, of 44 years; two daughters, three sons, several nieces and nephews, 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; a step-daughter, Patricia (Graves) Winner; and his brothers Neil and Merle.
