WILLIAM J. BAXTER
Mr William J Baxter, a well-known economist, director and former president of the Baxter International Economic Research Bureau died on April 10, 1970 after a lengthy illness. He was 70 years old. He lived at 2 High Ridge Road, Larchmont, New York and Nassau Point, Cutchogue.
Mr Baxter was born in Worcester, Mass. He graduated from Clark University in 1920. He received his MBA from Harvard University in 1922.
He was the author of more than a dozen popular selling books on economics and the founder of the well-known Baxter Weekly Financial Report and Investment Advisory Service.
He was a member of the Wykagyl Country Club in New Rochelle, NY, North Fork Country Club in Cutchogue, former president of the Nassau Point Property Owners Association and a member of the Mattituck Yacht Club.
Surviving are his widow Beatrice P, a son William J, a daughter Mrs Jane P Goeller and eight grandchildren.
A Mass of the Resurrection was offered at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 18, at Our Lady of Good Counsel RC Church in Mattituck and interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Cutchogue, New York.
