Hephzibah, Ga.- Robert Short Watkins, Jr., 73, husband of Carol Stewart Watkins entered into rest Monday, December 10, 2012 at his residence..
Graveside funeral services will be on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 12:00 P.M., in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Reverend Dan McGill officiating.
Pallbearers will be Arnold Stein, Neil Slaton, Drew Slaton, Greg Ledger, Tony Schlein and Jimmy John.
Mr. Watkins was preceded in death by his parents Robert S. Watkins, Sr., and Margaret Mills Byrd. He was a US Marine Corp Reserve veteran and retired from International Paper with 40 years of service
When not spending time with his family, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Other survivors include his son, Michael R. Watkins of Augusta; daughters, Robyn W. Slaton and her husband Neil of Martinez and Holly W. Stein and her husband Arnold of Augusta; five grandchildren, Drew Slaton, Tucker Slaton, Isabella Stein, Kyler Watkins and Bobby Watkins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M., at the funeral home.
