Obituary.
The deceased, Josephine L. Bryan was born in Scott County, Illinois January 23rd, 1830 and was united in marriage to G. B. Slinker February 3, 1853. To this union twelve children was born seven sons and five daughters of which four are deceased, seven of those were present at the time of her death, which occurred July 30th, 1911 at the home of the youngest son, Lewis W. Slinker, near Logan, Kansas, with whom she has made her home since the death of her husband August 20th 1896.

At an early age she was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal church and her life was that of a constant christian. Her greatest comfort was the word of God in her declining years.

Those of the children present at the time of her death were: Mrs. Mary Perry, of Des Moines, Iowa; Lee C. Slinker of Osceola, Iowa; W. J. Slinker of Wick, Iowa; J.O. and L.W. Slinker, of Logan, Kansas and Mrs. D. P. Duvall of Phillipsburg, Kansas. Those absent Mrs. Nora Lappin of Caldwell, Idaho.

Funeral service was conducted at her home by Rev. Ryder, of the M.E. Church of Logan, Kansas and was attended by a large number of sorrowing friends and relatives.
