Ancel Dee Thompson, 78, of Genoa, WV., passed away December 6, 2012, at his home in Mill Creek, WV., after a sudden illness.
Born July 1, 1934, in Beauty, Ky., a son of the late Bert and Edna Pratt Thompson.
He was a bus driver for the Wayne County Senior Citizens Center. He was a member of the Isaac Park Frewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Inez L. Maynard Thompson, five sons, Clethith Dee Thompson, TN., Gary Lee Thompson, MI., Phillip Darrell Thompson, VA., Timothry Thompson, OH., and Kennith Thompson, Genoa, WV., four sisters, Gen Noe, Sidney, OH.,, Katherine Scoggins, Sumpter, SC., Wanda Hundley, Genoa, WV., and Joyce Phillips, Genoa, WV., one step-daughter, Debbie Watts, Ft. Gay, WV., four step-sons, Bill Osborne, Genoa WV., Gary Osborne, Ft. Gay, WV., Tim Osborne, Genoa, WV., and Dwight Osborne, Ft. Gay, WV., eight grandchildren, 18 step-grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 9, 2012, at Rush Branch Church, Genoa, WV., with Rev. Tom Kitts and Rev. Roger Maynard officiating. Burial will follow at Damron Community Cemetery, Genoa, WV.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Saturday at Rush Branch Church, Genoa, WV.
