Funeral services for Calvin Wesley Smith (1872-1950) who died in a local hospital as a result of a heart attack Saturday afternoon, were held at the United Methodist Church, in Hastings, at 11 a.m. today with Rev. W. C. McClarity conducting the services. Interment was in Oak Hill East Cemetery with W. Carl Davis & Son in charge.
Mr. Smith was born in Avon, Ind., and moved to Hastings 36 years ago where he has been a potato farmer. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Irma Ruth Huron Smith of Hastings, one son, Ivan H. Smith of Jacksonville; one daughter, Mrs. Amos Wyllys of Hastings; four grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Addison Ingraham of Danville, Ind.; five brothers, Barney Mathew and Nolan Ellis, Danville; Fred, Indianapolis; Carl Elbert Smith, Cambridge City, Ind.; and Arthur R.
