Emmett Elmer Bryant Jr., 73, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012.
He was a retired salesman, former member of both the Essex County Jaycees and the Tappahannock Volunteer Rescue Squad, where he served as captain for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Peggy Bryant; four daughters, Terry Brooks and husband Lloyd, Debbie Wyatt, Sandy Quinn and husband Joe and Sherry Pierson; eight grandchildren; and two sisters, Catherine Cash and Nancy Holt.
He was predeceased by his son, Ken Bryant; his parents, Emmett and Myrtle Bryant; brother, Charles Bryant; and son-in-law, Wesley Wyatt.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 9, 2012 in Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock, with burial in Essex Cemetery.
