Clifford John, son of Peter Sr. and Anna (Klocke) Danner, was born on October 22, 1922, at home east of Dedham, Carroll County, Iowa. He lived on the farm and attended school in Dedham through the eighth grade when he started to farm full-time.
Cliff was united in marriage with Lorrine Murray on November 19, 1947, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dedham. Three children were born to this union. The couple made their home south of Dedham, then in 1949 moved to the Templeton area. Cliff was a dedicated row-crop and livestock farmer until his health slowed him down the last few years. Following two years of declining health, Cliff died suddenly of heart failure at the Manning Regional Healthcare Center in Manning on August 18, 2006, at the age of 83 years, 9 months and 27 days.
Cliff is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter Amy Jo Ehlers; brothers Joe Danner and wife Lena; Alfred Danner and wife Marie; and Jerome Danner; and sister Rosalia and husband Albin Schultes.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lorrine Danner of Templeton; children: Marcy and husband Dale Ehlers of Manning; Rich Danner and wife Nancy of Templeton; Mary and husband Duane Vonesh of Ankeny; grandchildren: Holly and husband José Jimenez of Ankeny; Chris Danner and wife Barbi of Templeton; Matt Danner of Des Moines; Danielle Vonesh of Des Moines; great-grandchildren Brooklyn and Payton Danner; brothers: Bill Danner Sr. and wife Anna of Carroll; Leo Danner and wife Betty of Dedham; Pete Danner Jr. and wife Dorothy of Carroll; sister-in-law Lorraine Danner of Carroll; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
