Mr. Gordon Finley Ogilvie, age 88 of Town & Country Drive, Wilkesboro, died Sunday, June 1, at Avante At Wilkesboro, Mr. Ogilvie was born in Wilkes County, April 11, 1915 to Archie Reid and Ellen Tate Finley Ogilvie. He graduated from Wilkesboro High School and attneded Presbyterian College for 2 years. Mr. Ogilvie was a member of North Wilkesboro Presbyterian Church where he served at deacon, elder, sunday school teacher, youth advisor and served on the pulpit committee. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and was secretary and treasurer of the club for fifteen years. He was also a member of the Toastmaster Club. Mr. Ogilvie was previously employed with the Wilkes Community College Horticulture Department. He served in the Army during World War II in the European Theater. Surviving are his wife, Irma Katherine Harless Ogilvie of the home; one son, Gordon Finley Ogilvie of Matthews; one daughter, Angela Hedgepath of Mooresville; three grandchildren. Memorial services will be!
held today, 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 4 at North Wilkesboro Presbyterian Church with Dr. Ben Trawick officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Yadkin Valley Greenway. Miller Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
