Charles was also a private in Co. B.L. 7 Confederate Cavalry Claborns Regiment, Partisan 7 Reg. Confederate Partisan Rangers which broke up July 1864 and Co's A to E, K to L assigned to the 10the Regiment Georgia Cavalry.
Family Life
After the Civil War he was married to Martha Jane Chance on Oct 30, 1865 in Carroll County, Georgia.
He and his family lived on what they referred to as Vines Mountain in Haralson County, between Bremen and Temple Georgia.
Charles donated some of his land to the County Line Church, which was a Southern Methodist Church and in addition he not only donated the wood to build the church, which he prepared at his saw mill, but he also donated the land for the burial grounds which is known as County Line Cemetery. Several of our ancestors on the Vines and Hogan side are buried their including Charles.
