Dies in Vietnam War
Thermopolis– Sp-4 Stephen L. Slocum, 21, son of Mrs. Roy Dwindell of Thermopolis, died at Long Binh, Vietnam, according to word received by his mother.
Born Sept, 9, 1949 in Great Bend, Kans., Slocum lived in Thermopolis for five years and graduated from Hot Springs County High School. He was active in wrestling both in Kansas and in Wyoming.
Survivors include his parents in Thermopolis; five brothers, Leon of McCook, Neb.; Douglas and Richard of Sterling, Colo.; Rodney of Great Bend, Kans. and Tom of Casper.
Services will be set when the body of the young medical specialist is returned from Vietnam. No details of his death were available.
