TROY William J.F. Lydecker, 76, formerly of Ashland, N.Y., died peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, December 8, 2004. He was born at home in Maywood, N.J. on February 26, 1928. In 1947, he served as a seagoing cowboy for Heifer International. He was with the Marines in Korea. In 1951, he graduated from Hobart College and from General Theological Seminary in N.Y. in 1956. The same year, he was ordained to the priesthood in Newark, N.J., subsequently serving churches in NYC, N.J., Panama and finally Trinity Church, Ashland. He was active in the Holland Society of New York and the Blauvelt Association as well as the Van Voorhees Association and was a past president of the Friends of New Netherland. His sisters, Louise L. Gregg of Keene Valley, N.Y., Katharine L. Lowe of Niskayuna, N.Y. and brothers, Leigh K. Lydecker of Oakland, N.J. and Gerrit V. Lydecker of Stamford, Conn., their spouses, children; and many cousins, survive him. A Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, December 13, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Episcopal Cathedral of All Saints, 62 S. Swan Street, Albany. Private burial in the family plot at Oak Hill Cemetery, Nyack, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to: Cathedral of All Saints, Albany, NY; Heifer Project International, P.O. Box 8058, Little Rock, AR 72203-8058; the Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks, P.O. Box 897, Tupper Lake, NY 12986-9986.
