Mrs. Frances Gunter Cook, 62, of 300 Raymond Road died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville. .:
She had been employed by the
Austin Company, MECO and
Franklin Furniture Company,
She was a member of Brown's
Chapel Disciples of Christ
Church and was preceded in
death by her father, George
Washington Gunter; two sons,
Thomas and George Cook; and
one brother, Jay Gunter.
Surviving are her husband:
Sanford Cook; three daughters:
Erma Cook of Greeneville, Mrs.
Paul (Mabel) Southerland of
Morristown and Mrs. Joe (Sue)
Lynch of Qttway;one son:
Michael Cook of Greeneville; six
grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren; her mother: Mrs.
Mable Ramsey Gunter of Cocke
County; three sisters: Mrs. Hazel
Norton of Greeneville, Mrs. Bill
(Flora) Hux and Mrs. Paul (Zola)
Jennings of Cocke County; two
brothers: Sherman Gunter of
Cocke County and Bruce Gunter
of White Pine.
The funeral service will be
conducted . at 2 p.m.: Friday at
Brown's Chapel Disciples of
Christ Church with the inter-•
ment location to be announced.
The Rev. Paul Jennings and the
Rev. James Brewster will offici-
ate.
Active pallbearers will be J. D.
Franklin, Bob Jones, Buford
Davis, Gene Waddell, Dudley
Grubbs and Jim Sarden.
Honorary pallbearers will be
Dr. Jacob T. Bradsher and the
staff at St. Mary's Hospital, Dr .
. Charles Montgomery and the
staff at Laughlin Memorial /
Hospital. .
The family will receive friends V
from 7 to 9 this evening and
Thursday evening at Doughty-
Stevens Funeral Home.
