Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Jane Baughman, 88, resident of this county for about 35 years, whose death occurred yesterday at St. Petersburg, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Davis Chapel, with the Re.v. E. C. Calkins, pastor, First Baptist Church, St. Augustine, a nephew, officiating.
Interment will be made in Oak Hill East Cemetery.
Born in Brookville, Canada, Mrs. Baughman lived at East Palatka for a number of years, removing to St. Petersburg about five years ago when her daughter, Ida J. Thigpin died, to take up residence with another daughter. She was an active church worker and was credited with having built the Union church at East Palatka.
Three sons, Earl C. Baughman, St. Petersburg, James W. Baughman, Richmond, Va., and William E. Baughman, Montgomery, Ala., and a daughter Mrs. C. D. Sanda, St. Petersburg survive. There are also several grandchildren as well as three great Grandchildren. (Times-Herald Obituary dtd Friday, 15 May 1936.)
