LLOYD (TOM) CLARK DANIELS

Lloyd (Tom) Clark Daniels, 65 years of age of Bristol, VA, formerly of Buchanan County, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2004 in the Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, VA. Born in Panther, WV, he was the son of the late Clarence Daniels and Ollie Hagy Daniels. He was of the Baptist faith; a U.S. Army Veteran a member of the American Legion Post #164 of Grundy, VA., retired coal operator, loving husband and devoted father. His love of fishing, hunting and times with his family was what he most cherished in life.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters, Kathlene Daniels, Ilene Sexton, Jean Reyes and Inis Belcher.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Phyllis Ann McClanahan Daniels of Bristol, VA. Two daughters, Teresa Ratliff and husband Kris of Marion, VA and Elizabeth Woodruff and husband James Alan of Dacula, GA. One sister, Teresa Hipps of Platter, OK. Four brothers, Jason Daniels of Cicero, IL, Finis Daniels of Big Rock, VA, Charlie Daniels of Booneville, IN and Clarence Daniels fo Desplain, IL.

He was also survived by two granddaughters, Danielle Carson Barnes and Bailey Catherine Ratliff. Two grandsons, Kristopher Clark Ratliff and Addison Stewart Ratliff. Two step-granddaughters, Taylor Ann Carstarphen and Kristin Michelle Woodruff.

Funeral services for Lloyd (Tom) Clark Daniels will be conducted Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Barnes, Evg. Michael Trent and Evg. Mike Rife officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial, Big Rock, VA.

Active pallbearers will be: Bill Smith, Edgar Tester, Jackie Belcher, Gene Love, Roger Billiter and Craig Stiltner.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Dr. DeSalvo, Dr Rupe, Dr. Finch and the fifth floor nursing staff of Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, VA.

Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion Post #164 of Grundy, VA.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6:00 p.m. Monday where evening service will be held at 7:00 p.m..
