After just 9 games with the Grays in 1937, Walker made an appearance in 19 games for the Kansas City Monarchs in 1939 where he went 8-1 with a 1.99 ERA while registering 63 strikeouts and 5 complete games. Walker would spend three full seasons with the Monarchs before ending his career with the Cincinnati Clowns in 1943.
