She divorced David W Steidley/Stadley, moved to Topeka, Shawnee Co Ks. The spelling of the surname went from Steidley early spelling to Stadley, which was on his WWI Draft Card. The children, David and Hazel were sent to her after David's death by electrocution. She was known as Maymie. She married William Northrup on 3 Jan 1957 in Jackson, Mo.

Topeka State Journal Saturday, 2 Sept., 1972:

Mrs. May Lorraine Northrup, 80, Topeka, died late Friday night in a Topeka hospital where she was admitted on Wednesday. She had an abdominal ailment.

She was born May 2,1892 at Eskridge and spent most of her life in Topeka. She was a member of North Topeka Baptist Church. She was a practical nurse many years before she retired.

She was married to David Stadley in 1913 in Iowa. They later divorced. He died in 1922.

She later was married to William Northrup. He died in 1961:
May L. Stadley, age 62 of 538 N. Lake, Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas married William J. Northrup, age 61 of 831 Kellain, Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas on January 3, 1957 in Jackson County, MO.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Burgen, Topeka; a brother, James LaDuke, Topeka; 3 sisters, Mrs. Hope Holmes, Topeka, Mrs. Hazel Gilbert, Vancouver, Wash., and Mrs. Achsa Petterson, Keokuk, Iowa; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Parker Mortuary is in charge of arrangements with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
